  1. Hi, cat!

I very much appreciate what you wrote here. Many people pull away from and reject that which is different, including people who are different. I move toward them, try to get closer so that I can learn about them and form a bond of friendship. I also enjoyed the opportunity to cleanse my palate and savor the song performed by Balkan gypsy-folk singer Esma Redžepova accompanied by musical instruments I don't hear very often like the accordion. In addition to her talents as a singer and songwriter, Esma was a humanitarian who devoted her life to philanthropy and charitable causes. Sadly she died just before Christmas last year at the age of 73.

Thank you very much, dear friend cat, and have a wonderful week ahead!

  3. Nope, I didn't choose my pond, but if there is such a thing as reincarnation, I think it would be poetic justice for those who think "their pond" is the only "good one" to live their next life in the pond they most look down their noses at now.

  4. Too many people judge others from the exterior when we should all be looking at a person's heart. Thank you so much for sharing, dear friend.

  5. Even though I don't sound particularly 'ethnic', this sure rang some bells for me, having suffered through many xenophobic torments as a child. I've heard you speak and love your accent, cat. ☺ Differences should be celebrated, not denigrated, yes? We can all learn so much from diverse cultures and traditions. That was a beautiful video. Esma has a wonderful voice!
